The Chicago Bears are perhaps the most-hyped team in the NFL entering the 2024 season. The acquisitions of Montez Sweat, Keenan Allen, and DJ Moore over the last year-plus, coupled with the additions of Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze in the NFL Draft has the excitement at an all-time high.
However, before the season rolls around, NFL rookie minicamps, OTAs, and traditional mini camp all must take place beforehand. At this time, rookie minicamp is schedule to begin for the Bears on Friday, May 10.
Williams spoke to the media prior to rookie minicamp, along with head coach Matt Eberflus. While Eberflus spoke to the media, he informed everyone that there is no smokescreen, Caleb Williams is QB1.
Bears HC Matt Eberflus officially named Caleb Williams today as Chicago’s starting QB.

Surely this isn't any kind of surprise. When looking at the Bears' depth chart, Tyson Bagent and Brett Rypien are the other two quarterbacks on the roster. If either one of them were going to start over Williams, it would raise a lot of questions nationally and within the fanbase. The Bears just informed everyone of the obvious entering rookie minicamp.
Williams will have the opportunity for immediate success as a rookie. Although it is far from guaranteed, Williams will have Allen, Moore, and Odunze as alpha receivers at his disposal, along with Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett, and D'Andre Swift.
QB1 is in the building. Now, the excitement can continue to build for the regular season.
